  • MUAY THAI

    Group classes will be led by Sumalee’s team of Muay Thai trainers, all of whom are ex pro-fighters each with their own story and various belts to back it! You will be met where you’re at in your training, our trainers are highly experienced in training first-timers all the way up to professional fighters, you can check out our customer reviews here. Not only will you get the chance to experience traditional Muay Thai training, but also join the team to support one of our very own fighters in competition, where you’ll gain unique access ‘backstage’ where you’ll get to observe the fighters being prepped for their entry into the ring.

  • YOGA

    Dynamic and meditative classes led by Rhian will open the invitation for you to connect with your body through mindful movement. In a group setting, you’ll explore various Yoga modalities as a way of increasing the possibility for enhanced psycho-somatic connection. Rhian’s approach to teaching is ‘exploration over expectation’, you will have the opportunity to explore new and diverse variations of Yoga poses that meet you where you are at in your Yoga practice.

  • FOOD

    You’ll enjoy full and nutritious meals served family-style to support refuelling and recovery made with love by our onsite chefs. As well as have the opportunity to explore local cuisine at our neighbouring, Michelin guide featured, Thai restaurant.

  • Accommodation

    Choose from one of Sumalee’s comfortable, air conditioned en suite rooms, all of which are serviced daily. Options include twin, king and suit rooms.

  • FIGHT NIGHT

    The chance tp support one of Sumalee’s very own fighters. Witness real Muay Thai fights at Phuket’s largest Muay Thai stadium.

  • COMMUNITY

    To faciliate an enriching, connected experience for our group the retreat will be limited to 12 participants. Although not mandatory we encourage to join in on all of the itinerary to maintain our groups connection, even if that means taking Svasanna for the entirety of your Yoga class - we value your presence! Over the years it has been an honour to witness the friendships made at Sumalee, to watch as people from all over the world and walks of life, of all ages and professions come together and bond over their shared experience. It’s for this reason that The Karma retreat welcomes participants of all ages, nationalities and gender to come together and create the experience of a lifetime.

  • KARMA

    Our retreat is centred around the rule of Karma, each participants payment will automatically pay for the next persons spot. You will receive a profile of the person who you have paid for once their spot has been secured. This provides a beautiful foot to start out on, the knowledge that one of your fellow retreat mates funded your stay and vice versa. It’s important to us that our local community, many of whom live under relatively harsh conditions, where possible reap some of the reward from the work we do here at Sumalee. This is why we have arranged for a toy/ education material donation to be held at the centre on the last day. A contribution of your retreat price will be used to purchase these, and of course you will be welcome to make further contribution of toys etc, should you choose to.

  • DETOX THERAPIES

    A complimentary face or body detox treatment with Bori, founder of Just Skin UK. With the option to book a 1-2-1 consultation and more treatments at your leisure.

Our retreat will be held at one of Thailand’s most well-known Muay Thai centers, best known for its seamless combination of traditional Muay Thai training, comfortable accommodation, great facilities, and an all-around family feel. The center itself is built on an old coconut plantation, which means, you guessed it, coconuts on tap! Its facilities include; onsite health food restaurant, swimming pool, massage sala, ice baths, boxing rings, and training area.

Sumalee also home to Phuket’s ONLY outdoor, Balinese-style Yoga Sala.

You’ll stay Sumalee’s comfortable en-suite rooms, all of which are located in the retreat centre. Simply step outside to join the group for scheduled classes!

    Sumalee’s most premier and most spacious room-type is furnished with locally crafted furniture, giving the room a homely feel to retreat to. Suite rooms are air conditioned, with their own en suite and kitchenette. Rooms are served daily.

  • KIng size

    Enjoy your own space in Sumalee’s air conditioned, en suite king size room. Serviced daily for your comfort.

  • Twin Shared

    Don’t mind sharing? Sumalee’s en suite twin rooms are air conditioned and serviced daily. Please note that selecting this option allocates you one bed in the room.

  • We strive to facilitate a welcoming, inclusive space that includes people of all demographics. That being said, due to the physical nature of much of our itinerary we require participants to be confident in their physical ability to be able to join in on our activities. A basic level of fitness is sufficient.

    To get the most from your experience we recommend that participants abstain from alcohol consumption for the duration of the retreat. That being said, if you are someone who enjoys a drink with dinner you are able to do so. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the retreat price.

  • Please check visa requirements on your countries government website.

  • Please specify if you’d like to book extra nights at Sumalee outside of the retreat dates at the time of your booking.

  • Select the BOOK NOW! option and follow the steps above.

    You will be required to pay a 20% deposit at time of your booking to secure your place, this is non-refundable. The subsequent balance can be paid at the time of your arrival.

  • Please refer to ‘How & When Do I Pay?’ for payment related T&C’s.

    As our retreat includes combat sport and fitness exercises, we require every guest to purchase their own personal accidental and medical insurance upon signing up. 

    We also highly recommend you purchase travel insurance for the entirety of your trip. The Karma Retreat shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from delays or cancellations in any of the travel companies you may have made arrangements with, or for any irregularities in your documentation required for travel. 

    Please bring your insurance policies with you on the Retreat. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is suitable and adequate for your particular needs.

    The Karma Retreat and its business partners do not assume responsibility for accidents or deaths linked to the participants’ negligence, acts of third parties or circumstances such as natural occurrences, extreme weather or similar causes.

    Photography/ Filming/ Content Creation

    You may be photographed or filmed in training and group activities throughout the retreat, for our use in marketing materials, our website or social media. If you do not consent to be included and featured in these images/ videos, please state and highlight this in our questions form after signing up. Please also communicate this to management upon arrival at Sumalee. Otherwise your permission is granted to The Karma Retreat to perpetual and world wide use of such images or videos on public platforms and promotional purposes.
